Manifestations of Racism
Racism can be manifested in many forms, including poverty, housing problems, underemployment, unemployment, wage differences, lowered educational opportunities, high crime rates, sentencing within the criminal justice settings, welfare dependency and more. Your textbook reviews many of the different ways racism is present not just at the individual level, but across organizations and systems.
Via the discussion board below, discuss how you see these examples in your own lives or with the people you care about. How are they perpetuated? How are they challenged and changed?
