Directions

Choose a spiritual pathway, or a specific form of a religious tradition (e.g., Pentecostal Christianity, Mahayana Buddhism, Sufi Islam, Reform Judaism, etc.). It may be the spiritual pathway you practice, or it may be an entirely different spiritual pathway you are interested in. Use the concepts and terms you learned in class and in chapters 2-5 of Richter to explain and analyze the theology, or belief system, of that spiritual pathway. Your paper should consist of three sections: introduction, body (containing five sub-sections), and concluding reflection. The introduction (1-2 paragraphs) must include a clearly discernible thesis statement that says something like, “In this paper I will demonstrate that (name the spiritual pathway) possesses (summarize the type of theology your spiritual pathway embodies in a phrase).”
