Executive Functions Project

The technical definition of executive function is the cognitive processes that help us regulate, control, and
manage our thoughts and
actions. It includes planning, working memory, attention, problem solving, verbal reasoning, inhibition, cognitive
flexibility, initiation of
actions and monitoring of actions. But what does that look like in children with Autism Spectrum Disorder
(ASD)?
You are going to research Executive Functions and its relation to ASD. After learning more about Executive
Functions and Autism
Spectrum Disorder, you are going to create a product to demonstrate your understanding. You can select one
of the following:
• Comic Strip
• Song or poem
• Children’s story
