Event Evaluation and Reflective Report

Evaluation of event objectives is a key aspect of the event planning process and an essential skill for event
managers in the development of best practice.
The task is to write a report [3000 words] that:

Evaluates the success of the event against the intended outcomes [objectives]

[b]

Provides a critical reflection on both the team and your own individual performance as a member of the
the team during the whole planning and staging process.
Further Notes:
● Section [a] should be written in the 3rd person [passive] tense.
● Section [b] may be written in the 1st person.
● Academic sources must be used to support both sections [a] and [b] and fully referenced using the Westminster Harvard System.
● The deadline for submission via Blackboard is 13.00hrs, 3 weeks after your event date [Dates will be clarified by the module leader and individual links will be available for each team’s submissions].
● The mark will be awarded on an individual basis.
The Event Evaluation and Reflection is assessed on the basis of the student’s ability to:

  1. Synthesiseandcommunicatecomplexinformationtopresentaclearappraisalofthe event in the context of the objectives set.
  2. Reflect critically,honestly andfullyonownexperienceandcontributiontothestagingof
    an event.
  3. Applytheoreticalconceptstoownexperience,showinganadvancedgraspofthe
    relevant literature.
  4. Relatetheexperienceofstaginganeventtofutureprofessionalgoalsandaspirations,
    demonstrating the skills and competencies developed in the process.
  5. Writeconfidentlyinanappropriateformat.
