Do NOT write paragraphs for this Outline assignment, but include enough information in phrases to indicate how the topics will be addressed. Note: Refer to the Sample Outline from the Center for Writing Excellence for additional information on constructing an outline. (see attachment) Introduction • Background and definition of the selected advanced nursing practice problem focused on the field of epidemiology • Environmental, biological, sociological, political, and/or theological origins for the problem • Problem statement • Research or clinical question Critical Analysis/Synthesis of the Literature • Include at least 3 relevant, current (i.e., last 5 years) research or evidence-based practice project studies that include methodologies (i.e., designs and analytic techniques) that we have covered in this course. • Critique and synthesize the major strengths and limitations of the methodologies in each study/project using your texts and th​‌‍‍‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‌‍‍‍‌‍‌‌‌‍​e Critical Analysis Template. (see Attachment) • Use 1 copy of the template per article • Be sure to include a citation in the outline (and reference at the end of the outline) for the analysis of literature for each methodology. Recommendations • To address gaps in the literature • Implications of the current research • Suggestions for future research or action steps supported by your analysis Conclusions • Conclusions that you draw from the current research about the problem and question that you have asked • Discuss the importance of epidemiology and biostatistics in addressing this problem within the field of advanced evidence-based practice in nursing.
