Employee Stress and Organizational Change
The focus in this unit is on the impact of employee stress on organizational change - how does it affect commitment and how does continuous change affect
people in organizations? The articles also present two interesting approaches - one based more in the practitioner literature and the other from the
academic realm- Both perspectives are important for developing a deep understanding of organizational change-
I’d suggest you read the Vakola et al article (Attitudes towards organizational change) first - pages 164-169 are mostly descriptive of the research
methodology and statistical analysis-
Then, read the Abrahamson article (Avoiding Repetitive Change Syndrome)- It is quite short but I think you’ll find interesting observations, some that link to
the Vakola article-

stress and organizational change-
