For the above airlines you (as an individual) should calculate and make a table for the following for the two most recent financial years
a) unit cost (per aircraft capacity)
(how much it costs to fly one seat, one lilonetre, to calculate unit costs, devide the total operating expenses by total ASK (available seat kilometre) capacity)
(Eg:75000ASK = 150seats fling 500 km)
b) yield (per RPK and/or RTK)
(to calculate system yiled, divide passenger revenue by total RPK(revenue per passenger)
kilometre.
(eg: customer pays 98 for the 500km segment, the yield would be 19.6 cents per km
c) load factor
(is a production compared to capacity. To calculate load factor, devide RPKs by ASKs)
d) break-even load factor
total operating cost are divided by total revenue and them multiply the quotient by the load factor. For example, if revenue is 100 and costs are 90, the quotient is 0.9. assuming the load factor is 70%, the breakeven load factor is 63% (to times 0.9)
