Edit a Film

  1. The film should be watched from beginning to end, while taking note of the following: a. Who are the central characters? b. What are the central conflicts?

c. What is the main characters’ journey?

  1. Identify key scenes where these questions are answered. Parts of these scenes will most likely be used for your trailer. You should also take note of key

quotes and sequences.

  1. While taking notes, consider the structure of a movie trailer, and the elements needed to adhere to a specific genre.
  2. From the .mp4 file and begin extracting the key scenes, sequences and quotes.
  3. Arrange and edit the footage.
  4. Add Music and Sound Effects where necessary, most likely the film’s music or score will be easiest to use.
  5. Add Moving Text where necessary, ie “In a world, where justice is dead…”
  6. Add the film’s Title at the end.
  7. Add your name and final project, before or after the trailer.
