DNP ESSENTIALS

  a.Introduction to the paper: The purpose of practice experiences in a DNP program should be introduced. Discussion should include perspectives from the DNP Essentials and other appropriate scholarly publications, links to the program outcomes for TUN, applications to personal practice experiences from this semester and how these two tenets served as a guide in these experiences. b.DNP Essentials: A brief discussion of the purpose of accreditation standards for professional academic programs, and the purpose of the DNP Essentials in doctoral practical education experiences. Specific names and titles of the essentials should be discussed including items I-III. i. Essential IV: Describe Essential IV. Discuss how practice experiences during this semester related directly to Essential IV. Include scholarly references to support your viewpoint. Explore ways that these experiences lay a foundation for your future practice as a Scholar-Practitioner and Nurse Leader specifically. Discuss specific experiences and give specific examples. ii. Essential VI: Describe Essential VI. Discuss how practice experiences during this semester related directly to Essential VI. Include scholarly references to support your viewpoint. Explore ways that these experiences lay a foundation for your future practice as a Scholar-Practitioner and Nurse Leader specifically. Discuss specific experiences and give specific examples. iii. Essential VII: Describe Essential VII. Discuss how practice experiences during this semester related directly to Essential VII. Include scholarly references to support your viewpoint. Explore ways that these experiences lay a foundation for your future practice as a Scholar-Practitioner and Nurse Leader specifically. Discuss specific experiences and give specific examples. c. Program Outcomes: A brief discussion of the purpose of Program Outcomes in general and specific description and discussion of TUN’s DNP Program Outcomes and their role in practice experiences. Program outcomes should be discussed in general and specifically including items 1-10. i. Program Outcome 2 (PO2): Describe PO2. Discuss how practice experiences during this semester related directly to PO2. Include scholarly references to support your viewpoint. Explore ways that these experiences lay a foundation for your future practice as a Scholar-Practitioner and Nurse Leader specifically. Discuss specific experiences and give specific examples. ii. Program Outcome 5 (PO5): Describe PO5. Discuss how practice experiences during this semester related directly to PO5. Include scholarly references to support your viewpoint. Explore ways that these experiences lay a foundation for your future practice as a Scholar-Practitioner and Nurse Leader specifically. Discuss specific experiences and give specific examples. iii. Explore ways that these experiences lay a foundation for your future practice as a Scholar-Practitioner and Nurse Leader specifically. Discuss specific experiences and give specific examples. d. Summary of Practice Activities: Summarize your personal progress with regard to practice activities throughout this semester. Include any personal insights you have gained and overall progress. Explain how the practice activities you have experienced have contributed to your overall success or difficulty. Discuss any barriers to personal practice you have encountered and explore possible methods to overcome barriers in the future. (Remember to use APA in this section and throughout the entirety of the paper which does not allow the use of first person). e. Conclusion: Write a conclusion that summarizes the contents of your paper including DNP Essentials, Program Outcomes, and their relation to Practice experiences this semester. 7. Submit your 3-5 page paper in APA format. Include a title page and reference page. (These are not included in your total page count.) Make sure you use evidence from scholarly literature to support your work. Include five current references (published within the last five years). Textbooks and websites are limited to one reference.
