Difficult Conversations,

Working in your assigned pair/group, synthesis the answers to these questions and have one person from the group post the responses to the Discussion thread (add everyone’s name at the beginning).

Address these elements in your response:

There are many difficult conversations in the film. With your group, choose a difficult conversation to analyze.
Describe the damaging behaviors and the successful strategies that were used during the interaction of the characters.
Propose solutions to improve the dialogue between the characters.
Post the conversation, the rationale for why it was chosen, recommendations for resolution, and explain why the recommendations would be effective.

In the movie 12 Angry Men, observe at which points in the film the conversation breaks down. What shifts in the conversational dynamics create a difficult conversation?

Apply what you have learned from Stone's book, Difficult Conversations, from the previous week and identify the incidents in the film that precipitate the breakdown of the larger conversation among the jury as a whole.
