Designing an intervention to change behavior
Sample Answer
- The target behavior: The first step is to identify the behavior that you want to change. This may seem obvious, but it is important to be specific. For example, instead of saying “I want to eat healthier,” you could say “I want to eat five servings of fruits and vegetables each day.”
- The target population: Who are you trying to reach with your intervention? Are you targeting a specific group of people, such as children or adults? Or are you targeting a general population?
- The setting: Where will the intervention take place? Will it be in a school, a community center, or online? The setting will affect the design of the intervention.
