Design type for project development

Select one design type for project development. The type can be a residential or commercial occupancy type. If you select a large commercial type, consider narrowing the square footage layout to manage the planning of the layout. The final square footage must be enough to offer opportunities for space planning of rooms along with development of circulation within the space. A project that is too small will not be acceptable for this assignment. This type is based on your area of interest, your portfolio breadth and depth, and you career plans. This project is a new and different project than one that you have worked on in previous courses. It is also different from one that you have completed at a job or internship site. Conduct primary research: select two or more research methods for investigation of the design type: Interviews, precedent studies, historical case studies, questionnaires, and observational field research. Add secondary research from the course texts and additional online research. Include a minimum of 12 different references. Consider including graphics, and photos with citations. The information includes the following (revised from IB Program, Portland): The student(s): explains and justifies the need for a solution to a design problem for a client identifies and prioritizes the primary and secondary research needs to develop a solution to the problem explains the data collection process using two different research methods, de-identifies participants explains findings from primary research using two different research methods develops a detailed analysis and summary of primary and secondary research This section is 7-10 pages
