This assignment is to analyze a conversation from a Capstone Action Project in the Capstone archives. Choose a difficult conversation from the collaboration log of the project. Develop a strategy to apply dialogue concepts and skills from this course to that conversation to improve communication.
The objective is to acknowledge the possible limitations of the communication and suggest strategies to overcome these challenges using the concepts of dialogue.
The key criteria for the assignment are:
Identify the key stakeholders and their roles in the difficult conversation.
Provide a rationale for why you chose this particular difficult conversation.
Identify the primary concerns of each stakeholder in the conversation.
Identify the key challenges in the stakeholders’ communication.
Prioritize the key challenges and critical moments in the difficult conversation you identified.
Apply the readings in the course to the analysis of the challenges in successful dialogue and/or critical moments.
Outline two reasonable solutions for the top key challenge and/or critical moment (as prioritized) for effective dialogue and resolution.
Describe the pros of the proposed solutions.
Describe the cons of the proposed solutions.
Based on the pros and cons of each proposed solution, make a final recommendation for resolution.
Justify the choice of the final recommendation.
In the final recommendation, include strategies to address the possible cons identified and explain why the recommendation would be effective.
Criteria
Identified the key stakeholders, their roles, the primary concerns of each stakeholder, the key challenges of the communication of each and why this difficult conversation was chosen.
Key challenges of the difficult conversation and how they should be prioritized are analyzed with support from the course materials.
Two solutions are explained, with pros and cons of each, final recommendation and rationale on why the final recommendation would successfully address the cons is provided with detail, explanations and examples.
Includes credible source support from a variety of the course materials with citations and Reference.
College level writing follows the APA style with proper grammar, mechanics, organization (introduction, body, conclusion) and proofreading.
