Current Events—Cost of Care
Assignment 3: Current Events—Cost of Care It is well-known that the U.S. has been spending more per
capita on healthcare than other developed countries. What is less well-known is that the U.S. has
had one of the highest growth rates in per capita healthcare spending since 1980, among higher
income countries. Healthcare spending around the world, generally, is rising faster than overall
economic growth. Almost all countries have seen healthcare spending increase as a percentage of
their gross domestic product (GDP) over time. Research the cost of care using the Argosy University
online library resources and the Internet. Select an article reporting or analyzing current events
related to cost of care, if your reporting article is Type two diabetes, write a summary of your
findings in 300 to 400 words. By Friday, November 4, 2016, post the summary to the appropriate
Discussion Area. Through Sunday, November 6, 2016, review and comment on your peers’ responses.
