Here are the instructions: The the essay will be on climate 'II be honest, the readings for this week are unnerving. The projections are frightening; if only a portion of the predictions play out, we are still talking about wide-spread destruction, billions of dollars worth of damage, nations weakened, and people scared and desperate--in my lifetime! I don't know how you feel, but after rereading these articles in preparation for this week. I am ready to act. Having three kids at home, I feel a duty to protect them today and tomorrow. I hope this assignment doesn't come across as too opportunistic but I imagine the readings were eye-opening to some of you and you, too, may share this desire to act. For this reason, for this week's response, I'd like you to write a letter to your local, state, or federal politician (your choice) outlining your feelings about this topic of climate change and the risk of climate change to national and global security, the rationale for your position (use the week's reading to support your arguments), and what you would like your politician to do. The letter should be persuasive in nature and you may address any politician (local, state, or federal). While you do not have to email/mail the letter. I ask that you consider letting your voice be heard. I will not set a length requirement for this assignment, but do ask that regardless of the position you take, that you do support your claim with evidence.
