Option A:
Attend a festival, concert, art gallery, religious ceremony (with the permission of the community), visit the home of a friend from another culture, or read a book by an author from a different culture than yourself. If you have an idea not listed here, email me your idea.
Option B:
Watch a movie with a multicultural theme. I'd prefer that they all take place in a working environment, but that would have severely limited the selection and representation. I've listed several below, some may be easier to access on streaming services than others. Many are available on YouTube, Hulu, Amazon, or Netflix. You can
also find many of them in Libraries (local, county, as well as on campus). I challenge you to choose one that is about an experience very different from your own, even if it makes you uncomfortable. If you have one in mind
that is not on the list, let me know. A few quick disclaimers about these movies: Many of them are rated "R"
and will have violence and adult content, please be aware of that before selecting your movie. Also, some of
them are from the perspective of white film makers.
