Identify a country that’s name starts with the first letter of your first name. This will be "Your Country". For example, someone named "John" would use the letter “J.” (Note: If no country exists that meets this criteria, chose the next closest letter.
The Observatory of Economic Complexity provides international trade information and does so in a manner that is relatively easy to interpret. Use selections in the menu on the left to build the visualizations needed to answer the questions below. Clicking on the boxes in the visualization can give you additional information. Note: the most recent info available in this database is for 2017.
- What was the value ($s) of Your Country’s total imports from the United States for 2017? What were Your Country’s top three imports from the United States in 2017? Discuss some reasons why you think Your Country might be importing these particular products from the United States.
- What was the value ($s) of Your Country’s total exports to the United States for 2017? What were Your Country’s top three exports to the United States in 2017? Discuss some reasons why you think Your Country might be exporting these particular products to the United States.

How did those specific exports change in value over the prior five years? Discuss some reasons why you think those exports may have changed.
