Analytical outcome: determine relative strength/weakness of the pertinent R&C (i.e., those being used to leverage business-strategy) of your company as compared to its major rival and to the industry average (where applicable).

Course tools: Comparison of T/I/HR resources and comparison of capabilities using Porter’s Value Chain Analysis (relative strength); ROCE/financial analysis.

Relative Strength/Strategic Importance matrix.

Analytical outcome: to identify the R&C that are key strengths, key weaknesses, superfluous strengths, and irrelevant.
