Communicating results to clients is often one of the most important aspects of the assessment process. If counselors are so well-trained in communication skills, why does the interpretation of assessment results require them to have even more specialized knowledge and skills? What might happen if test results are not communicated effectively or clients misinterpret them? Although there is not a great deal of research on how best to interpret test results to client, what are some general guidelines that all practitioners can follow for this important activity?
