Colonial Challenges

Researching and analyzing primary sources is a critical skill for historians and students.
Fortunately, many primary sources are online.
As we have discussed in class, the website History Matters has many primary sources from the early colonial era (http://historymatters.gmu.edu/).
You will be assigned two sources from the Many Pasts section of the website.
From those sources answer what were the main challenges confronted by the early settlers and how did they react to it.
Write a 2 to 3 page paper which must include the following:
Introduction - Must include a thesis (what is your main argument) and a preview of the sources.
2 paragraphs on 1st source- Don’t just list all issues- focus on 1 or 2 main challenges
