Hi Tamika,
Those strategies are great when considering our homeless veteran population. Thanks for sharing them. One intervention that I find is crucial is cognitive restructuring, which entails “Identifying, confronting, and replacing illogical and unhelpful thinking patterns with new ways of thinking” (Langer & Lietz, 2014, p. 155). This can be a very delicate intervention as some people can get upset when questioning their thinking. What is one way you would go about practicing cognitive restructuring?

Hi Tamika,
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a great tool we social workers have at our disposal. Even in daily life, this is a great therapy to have knowledge of! One final stage of CBT is evaluation. Langer & Lietz (2014) contend that “As social workers progress through the activities of helping, it is essential that they evaluate the degree to which their interventions are prompting positive change that assist the client in moving toward goal attainment” (p.157). How would you go about evaluating your success as social worker with the case we have read about?
