China labour to confront different challenging under globalization

Research Paper (Due on March 29th): (30%) The research paper will account for 30% of your mark. I encourage you develop a topic that is of particular interest to you. An important consideration in selecting a topic is that you can complete it within one term. In order to give you some guidance in clarifying the topic and focus of your paper, I am requiring the following: The final paper should be about 2000 to 2500 words (8-10 pages, double-spaced). It will be due by week 13 March 29th. You are required to hand in a hard copy and an electronic version. We will also have a mini-workshop for you to present your paper. Each of you has only 5 minutes to present, so be succinct and efficient. Your final paper will be judged by the following criteria: 1) Thesis: a clearly defined proposition – something you intend to demonstrate or prove in your paper 2) The development of a coherent argument in support of the thesis 3) Organization: A clear, logical structure 4) Content: mastery of the data and relevant material and effective use of it in substantiating the thesis 5) Writing: clear writing, with careful editing and attention to normal scholarly standards. It will also help if it is interesting, so use your imagination to present the material. 6) Literature and bibliography: This is very important to a well-written research paper. Carefully choose the works related to your subject. APA citation style preferred. The bibliography should be properly listed. 4 7) Relevance: The extent to which the paper addresses a significant issue in understanding some aspect of labour relations or political economy that is consistent with the overall themes of the course. 8) Research: The use of relevant materials and demonstration of a reasonable knowledge of recent work on the subject. In particular, you will be expected to refer to relevant parts of the literature dealing with your topic. Please Note: When you hand in your final research paper, a cover sheet is necessary.
