Building a Forensic Research Library

Identify two quality resources that were not shared with you from NU (that is, were not required or optional readings or the prompt for an assignment or discussion). These are resources that you found in your own research. Complete an annotated bibliography for the two resources – one research article/news release, and one video ‘how-to’ for a digital forensic technique or tool.
Below is an example of an annotated bibliography entry for one of the resources shared in this class. First is the reference in APA format. Then a brief description of what the visitor to the site will find and why they would want to consider this resource for their future use.

InfoSec Institute (2013). Forensic Investigation on Windows Machines. https://resources.infosecinstitute.com/forensic-investigation-windows-machines/
Explanation: This resource is a very basic breakdown of where in a Windows system forensic evidence (artifacts) may be found. This includes a brief description of the Registry Keys and what types of data are stored in each. A useful, but constantly changing resource is the ‘Editors Choice’ content window mid-way down on the right side of the window. In this area is an ever-changing collection of resources that are relevant to various amounts to Windows forensics. I have found several good articles on the latest advances or issues at digital crime labs that have made me aware of issues faced in the workplace.
Computer Forensic Reference Data Sets (CFReDS). (2018). NIST. Retrieved from https://www.cfreds.nist.gov/
This resource is a collection of data sets to aid in learning digital forensics. These datasets are similar to a Harvard Review case study but offered by NIST, to allow users to immerse themselves in a scenario as they use a tool or practice forensic techniques or documentation. The sets include solutions so that the user may verify their results and quantify their understanding by learning what they completed correctly.
