What aspects of the author′s style stand out in Part 1: What Seasons They Have Been Through, Chapter 1? For example, Brown’s writing style is extremely desсrіptive, as he creates strong images of the various settings employing brilliant imagery. The attention to detail is almost cinematic and the author makes extensive use of similes and metaphors. One such example from the first chapter is the simile in the following: ″Ferries crawled away from Colman Dock on water as flat and dull as old pewter.″
