The context and aims of the book are comprehensive and clear, showing how the book fits in the specific research discipline within applied linguistics, and how it develops previous work by the author(s). The summary provides an excellent overall perspective on the book’s contents, as well as a clear insight into how the book’s arguments are developed in detail in specific chapters. 2- An excellent critical review of the book’s contents. The review provides an extremely clear and well formulated evaluation of how, and how well, the goals of the book were met, the merits and demerits of the book, and its contribution to new knowledge in applied linguistics. The review ends with an insightful and creative personal reflection on how the book relates to and extends your understanding of this area in the field. 3- Academic writing is excellent, including a clearly coherent structure and excellent use of cohesive devices to structure the argument. No noticeable errors in syntax, vocabulary (including lapses of academic tone) or spelling. 4- The book review is properly formatted and referenced, with attention to detail, following APA guidelines. Presentation is excellent.
