Blockchain-based shipping company

The shipping industry is based on the transportation of goods by means of high capacity. International
shipping is responsible for the transportation of around 90% of the world’s trade.
Companies involved in the shipping industry have encountered numerous challenges throughout the years due to complex supply chain processes. In a world where the complexity to provide effective and efficient shipping supply chain systems is becoming harder day by day, shipping companies are having to reinvent their business models to stay ahead of the curve. Furthermore, the complexity of these supply chains
increases paperwork and makes the shipping process extremely bureaucratic, therefore slowing the time of
delivery. Just one shipment may generate more than 200 communication documents and it is estimated that
one-fifth of the cost of transporting goods comes from the cost of processing and administering these
documents.
There are 2 main challenges in this industry, on the one side the traceability of the shipment and the
accountability.
We have created a blockchain-based "app" that does solve this problem:
Through the use of smart contracts, we can link formal contracts to tokens used for the transfer of the Bill of
Ladings. Finally, all the Legal documentation stored in the blockchain as a database preventing the falsification or duplication of the documents. Our business focus will be centered on the following three
aspects:
Bill of Lading, Contractual Agreements, and Legal Documentation.
