Biography Study

Identify a person (not an individual written about in Gladwell’s book) who has overcome a seemingly
insurmountable obstacle(s). There must be written narrative or video with factual biographical information that
you use as a reference. Be sure to use credible sources. You will be writing an analytical paper about your
chosen person.
BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION
Provide biographical information regarding the individual, including but not limited to:
His/Her current age
Age(s) overcame obstacle
Gender
OBSTACLE INFORMATION
Detail the obstacle:
Provide specific details about the obstacle;
Explain what makes it extraordinary;
How he/she overcame or is currently overcoming the obstacle.
ANALYSIS
Provide analysis of the individual’s motivation to overcome the obstacle based on one of the following theories:
Maslow’s Need Hierarchy
Alderfer’s ERG Theory
Mccllelland’s Learned Needs
Herzberg’s Two Factor Theory
Reinforcement Theory
Expectancy Theory
Equity Theory
Incentive Theory
Arousal Theory
Instinct Theory
Drive Theory
