“Better People Make Better All Blacks”

Part 1: From the 15 lessons in the book, there are broad themes from which we have selected four for you to
articulate, drawing from examples from the book to summarize their meaning and importance. Your response
to each should be approximately a paragraph, focused on brevity and clarity while providing an example from
Kerr’s writing. These themes are:
“Sweep the Sheds”
“Better People Make Better All Blacks”
“Kiwi Kaizen”
“Keep a Blue Head”
Part 2: Select two Whakatuaki (see chapter for examples) from the book, explain their meaning and provide an
application from the reading to describe each one’s connection to the All Blacks.
Part 3: The book concludes on the subject of legacy. Kerr cites some phrases (e.g. “plant trees you will never
see”) which speak to the impact of personal legacy on life and leadership. Conclude this assignment with up to
two paragraphs envisioning how you would like to “plant trees you will never see” with respect to your future in
a personal and/or professional sense.
