Assume that you are working as Supply Chain Manager for your own organisation (or one that you are familiar with).
(1) Prepare a summary of the company, their ethos and Mission Statement.
(2) Explain the term: ‘Supply Chain Management’ (SCM). Using relevant Supply Chain models and course concepts, prepare a report critically evaluating the existing Supply Chain Model in use by the Company and suggest improvements which may be considered to provide additional value to the Company.
Please note the purpose of this Assignment is to get you to engage with the material in an insightful way through reflection and the application of the concepts. Accordingly, you should avoid providing simplistic explanations of the models themselves in analysing your chosen company’s position.
1. Possess the capability of analysing, interpreting and evaluating the importance of effective SCM policy from a managerial viewpoint
2. Be capable of critically evaluating SCM function in an organisation by linking the topics on the syllabus to display a thorough understanding
3. Demonstrate an ability to assess alternatives available in trying to balance requirements for Supply Chain Management in a context of business environmental uncertainty
