Description
What to Investigate
For this activity you will need to:
identify an issue: Gender Differences in the work place. pay gap and etc…
investigate how ONE media form (art, or music, or television, or movies, or poetry) represents the issue you have identified
identify multiple examples that are representative of the particular genre and time period that support your premise
Suggested Steps
1) Using our model place the issue you've selected in the box labeled 'Your Issue'.
2) Consider what 'Inputs' precede or lead to your issue?
3) Next, you will need to consider what are the 'results' or outputs.
4) Now, identify, using the feminist lens, at the very least the initial outcomes
feel free top include any intermediate, and extended outcomes too
5) Now, using the media indicator you have identified - Support and describe the evidence of these outcomes that you see in your media?
For example,
1) Gender Differences in the work place as an issue.
2) What inputs precede (or lead to) Gender Differences in the work place?
3) What is the result (output)?
4) Now, using the feminist lens, identify an initial, intermediate, and extended outcome.
5) Now, using the media indicator you have chosen, prove a description, rationale, and support describing the evidence of these outcomes in your media example
Media as Evidence or Indicator
Media (art, music, television, movies, poetry) are forms of social commentary. In this course we are looking at a variety of topics, and this paper will be the first step towards your final paper, for which you are investigating how media that YOU regularly observe (art, music, television, movies, poetry) represents a viewpoint of one of the issues discussed in this course.
