Annotated Bibliography

  1. Search the library catalog for articles on one of the following topics. Ideally, the articles will align with your
topic for the research paper and you can use them in your paper.
o Topic 1: The use of humor as a rhetorical strategy in essays.
o Topic 2: The relationship between language and cultural or personal identity.
  2. Choose TWO articles. One must be peer-reviewed. One must be a magazine or newspaper article. Both
must be relevant to the research topic.
  3. Read the articles carefully, using the methods discussed in your library tutorial module (and here
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t2K6mJkSWoA).
  4. Create and submit an annotated bibliography for the sources (basically a reference list with a summary of
the articles) that answers the following 5 questions. Each annotation should be approximately 150 words
    (assignment total: 300-400 words).
  5. What is the problem or research question in the essay?
  6. What is the method/approach? (How was the research conducted by the authors?)
  7. What are the findings or results?
  8. How reliable or flawed is the research?
  9. How relevant is the article for your research topic?
  10. Your assignment should have a cover page and should be formatted in APA style. When you quote or
paraphrase the articles, you must include an in-text citation.
