Instructions: Initially select and investigate 2-3 leaders from varied well know organisations either from New Zealand or Internationally practicing diversity or have a diverse workforce. The organisations should be undergoing or have undergone major change (large impact on a wide group of individuals) within the last 5 years. This may be a restructuring, a merger, downsizing, redundancy, introduction of a new system/ technology, or others. The leaders should be currently part of their organisation and have at least 3 direct reports. The sources can be company websites, published annual reports or authority websites such as: https://fortune.com/, https://www.forbes.com/, https://www.entrepreneur.com/, https://www.economist.com/ etc. These are just a few to get you started. Simply put an authority website is a very high-quality website that is respected by knowledgeable people in its industry. Do your own research and look for authority websites on your research topic. 1. After your initial search study the requirements of the assignment tasks given in the table below and see whether you have sufficient information on one organisation/leader to complete the assignment. Ideally you would write this report choosing ONE organization and Leader 2. If you feel the information on one organisation is lacking to complete the assignment, you may use more than one organisation/leader. In such an instance your introduction will also provide information on the 2nd organisation/leader. 3. If you are using more than one organisation/leader, then each section/topic should separately identify the relevant organisation/leader. 4. You should provide full references in APA format and in text clickable links for all sources. 5. Undertake the following tasks shown in the table below, providing clear, coherent, comprehensive and logical discussions using theories and concepts learned in class. Use specific fully referenced organisational examples and justify all recommended strategies. 6. Assignment Format: The cover sheet should include your name/student number, subject code, assignment number and a word count. The reference list must be in the current APA format (6th edition). Introduce and describe the selected leader – name, role and staff members’ profile. (2.5mark) 1.3. Describe the cultural diversity that exists in the organisation (identify ethnicities). (2.5marks) 1.4. Describe, with sufficient detail, the change that it is undergoing or has undergone in the past 5 years. (2.5marks) 2. Organizational structure 2.1. Describe the structural changes that have taken place in the organisation within the last 5 years. (12 MARKS ) 2.2. Using your understanding of organisational behaviour and the concepts from chapter 13 suggest what design improvements can be made to the existing organisational structure. Describe how your selected organisation can ensure that it’s corporate culture is not affected by a change of personnel in strategic positions (12 Marks) 3.2. (12Marks) 4.2. What strategies would you recommend the leader should adopt in order to reduce the resistance to change (restraining forces) identified under your field force analysis above. Justify your recommendations. (12marks) (4.1-4.2 Chapter 15, case study “ecology matters”) 5. Recommendations, Treaty of Waitangi 5.1. Analyse and critically evaluate the application of the 3 principles of the Treaty of Waitangi (protection, partnership, participation) in facilitating change implementation and achieving individual, group and organisational alignment.
