Reflecting on my past healthcare experiences, a particular encounter with a doctor comes to mind where unconscious bias might have played a role. During a routine checkup, I expressed concerns about persistent fatigue and difficulty concentrating. The doctor, a highly respected professional in his late 60s, quickly dismissed my concerns, attributing them to “stress” and suggesting I “slow down” and “manage my time better.” While his advice wasn’t entirely wrong, I felt unheard and brushed aside.
