A précis is a short synopsis of an article, book, or play. This is not a summary of the play. Please follow the format provided and you will see that this is an exercise of distilling everything you know about the play and its key elements including plot, characters and purpose or intention of the playwright. It also includes a question about audience. Plays are never written for a general audience, a playwright is always speaking to someone or some group. It might be a large group or a small one, but take time to consider this because it can inform what the playwrights intention might have been. Each precis should be no longer that 1 page,
