Preliminary Assessment of the Child

1) Preliminary Assessment of the Child
Review all school records on the child, and conduct a thorough observation of the child in his/her classroom. You will then summarize your findings in a preliminary assessment on the child. Make sure to include:
• A summary of the child’s development in all 5 developmental domains, both typically and atypically
• The child’s date of birth
• A summary of your classroom observation (not related to the child specifically):
o how many students are there in the class,
o what is the lay out of the classroom,
o how many teachers are there etc.
