My Monologue
The audio monologue should be posted in the My Monologue VoiceThread link in Module 6. Refer to the “VoiceThread Instructions for audio acting monologue-submit assignment” It does not need to be a video recording.
DESCRIPTION: Monologues are acting scenes where an actor has a long series of lines. There are two types of monologues: when one is expressing inner thoughts and when one is talking to another person. An example of a monologue where one is expressing inner thoughts is the “To Be, Or Not To Be” soliloquy found in Hamlet.
Situation:
- Pretend that you are seventeen years old and are trying to tell your parents about a difficult spot in which you have found yourself.
- You may develop your monologue as inner thoughts you are preparing to tell your parents, or you may develop it as if you are talking directly to your parents. Either way, your parents will not have any dialogue; it is strictly you talking to your parents.
- This is the magic world of “if.” For example: If you were seventeen and in a tight spot that your parents would find difficult to accept, what would you say to them?
- Also, think about how you would relate the details to them.
- Develop the script for a one-minute monologue.
